Kettleball training Rated 10 out of 10 Although I was nervous about kettleball(it looks scary), I decided that I wanted to be on the ground floor of some activity at our club. Dave held several "get to know the sport" sessions so I could get my feet wet. I was the only one there for several of those sessions so I received personal training. I was able to fully see how good a trainer Dave is because, to be honest, I did not cripple myself. Now I am attending classes with several other people and I still find that Dave watches each and everyone of us to make sure we are doing things correctly. A demonstration of what we are to do is given to the entire class and then individual attention, too, to make sure we are doing things correctly. Attention is paid so that we are lifting the amount of weight appropriate for each of us. Our form is also closely watched so we do not injure ourselves. I feel that the kettleball class that Dave co -leads is truly indiviualized for each person even though it is a group lesson. I am not made to do what others who are stronger can do , and, I am not made to feel bad because I cannot do everything. What is stressed is doing the best of what you can personally do.
Kettleball and Personal Training Rated 10 out of 10 Dave has developed and supervised personal training sessions for me. He has introduced the Kettelbell workout into our routine with great results. Dave introduced the kettelbell , demonstrated the excercise, and ensured I was doing it things correctly. He also ensured that I was using a weight appropriate me as form is the key to the excercises. The introduction of the kettelbell into the workout is indivualized to get the most benefit out of the workout while ensuring the excercise is done correctly for the maximum benefit.
Best of the Best Rated 10 out of 10 I have been active in sports and athletic conditioning my whole life. I am a dentist by trade but consider myself a long time student of fitness and health. I thought I had read, seen and done everything in athletics. I turned forty last year and was motivated to get my "edge" back. Enter the Kettlebell . I am a strong advocate for kettlebell training because it is fun and challenging at the same time. The hard work that you put in results in superior conditioning of your heart, mind and body. I love it and I'll never stop swinging (...and pressing and snatching and TGU-ing...). I think my HR just went up to 202 just thinking about it! But this isn't about me...This is about the outstanding trainers/motivators that got me to this point. Dave Clancy and Cat Holman were instrumental in the introduction of KB training for me. Their approach is simple: get the form right then GET IT DONE! 'Tough Love' purists for sure. They are both extremely passionate about the Kettlebell Way and health & fitness in general. They are two shining examples of what the RKC certification embodies. They WILL teach you and motivate you beyond your set goals. I know I will surpass mine and I can't wait to see where I end up! I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with TWO certified RKC Instructors. I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet and work with these outstanding individuals. I also know anyone seeking certification would benefit from their commitment to the RKC. In closing, I give Dave Clancy the HIGHEST recommendation.
Quality Instructors, Quality Program Rated 10 out of 10 Like many, my New Year's resolution was to lose weight and get into better shape. The health club I go to had a sign up for "kettlebell" classes. It looked different, like a combination of weight and cardio, so I decided to give it a try. I was introduced to the two instructors from Buckeye Kettlebells, Dave Clancy and on 01/18, I attended my first class. Even starting with the little 12Kg, by the end of the class I had no doubt that I had never ever had so many muscles worked so thourghouly in such a short time by ANY instructor I had worked with in the past. The next day, I had previously unknown muscles screaming in protest, but that is what sold me on the effectiveness of the kettlebell, and teaching methods of Dave.
Excellent Rated 10 out of 10 I have known and trained along side of Dave for two years. When I decided to try and earn my RKC I turned to him without a second thought. With the excellent instructions, patient teachings and serious workouts, I was able to gain strength, stamina, self confidence and reach my goal of becoming an RKC instructor. I could not have done it without them. Dave is a first class instructor and excellent man!
